Perhaps I was a bit too keen and posted my previous review before my cat was able to get used to his new bed because he seems to have fallen in love with this!
I've posted an image to show how comfortable he is in it too.
He makes sure to sleep in it every night and although it looks like it isn't big enough to fit him, he seems incredibly comfortable and content... This really has been one of the best purchases I've ever made.

Too large to fit in the IKEA/B&M unit
The bed is of a great build but my cat isnt interested. It's also a little too big for both the IKEA and B&M shelving unit which is unfortunate.

I've had this great piece for 2 years now. Still looks good and shows no signs of wear. The cats use it daily for scratching.
It could be a millimetre wider so it doesn't slip out of the compartment so easily.

firmer mattress
On the one hand, the little bed is a bit too small for Kallax – so it slides around a bit.
The bed itself is very thinly padded and quite hard. Our cats only accepted it with an additional cushion. But with that, they do lie in it more often at night (it’s placed next to our bed).
The scratching board wasn’t used at all. Apparently, it wasn’t recognised as a scratching board. Even with catnip spray, we couldn’t get them interested in it.

Favourite spot in the children's room
