Thought it was just us but agree with others the recipes have changed (particularly for the fish varieties) and our cat now won’t touch what was her favourite food. Frustrating when we had just stocked up. Hope they see the reviews and change the recipe back.

They've Changed the Recipe

Initially, the Applaws Tuna was great: pink meat few flecks of rice but the last batch was awful. Thought I'd got an end run, but 24 tins later I realised they must have changed the recipe. The tuna was grey and there was so much rice content that it was gelatinous. One tin was so full of rice that my poor Bengal refused to eat it. I'm now on another brand that does tinned tuna. It looks and smells fresh and tasty, and my Bengal loves it.

Recently downgraded the quality!

We’ve given this Tuna fish food to our two Bengal girls as a treat for some time, they love it... However, sadly the manufacturer appears to have now downgraded the product quality. It used to smell and look like tuna. And a tin would last a couple of days if kept in the fridge. Now it vaguely looks like tuna but contains more of the rice/jelly. It is quite “gloopy” and after 1 day in the fridge it goes off colour. I’ve tried several cans - our cats don’t like it anymore, it’s awful stuff!

Both cats adore this food, and the one with seaweed in it. Rice very good for their coats; happy cats who clear their bowls and then look up for more.

Clean bowl, hurray!

I wrote a review when I’d tried the mackerel and sardine with my aged cat. Now tried her with tuna and prawn with same result. She’s 17 and recently stopped eating dry food , but was not compensating by eating more wet. I tried ‘prescription diet ‘ food which she refused. She is clearing her bowl each time I give her this so I am now hopeful that she will be with me for a while yet. I acknowledge that all furry purries are their own unique selves, but this is working for mine.

She ate it!

I have a 17 year old cat who stopped eating her (preferred) dry food a few weeks ago, and in the last week or so was eating little overall. I tried human tin fish of varying kinds and a brand ‘prescription diet’ for aiding post illness. I’d braced myself that she might not be with me at Christmas. Got this today and she ate 1/4 tin straight off. I know every cat is their own unique self, but right now I’d say give it a go, especially if you are needing to encourage your furry purry to eat.

Very good

All of my cats love this, I buy the fish flavours as one of my cats doesn't like chicken wet food. It's good for my 17 year cat's stomach as he gets diahorrea from cheap nasty foods like Whiskas and Bozita as well. Would give it 5 stars if it was a complete rather than complementary but I give them biscuits as well so that's covered.

I thought I had been really doing right for my 3 cats and treating them by buying this. The quality and smell of it looks brilliant, as much as pet food can! However on seeking some dietary advice it turns out this food is NOT a complete food apparently, so if you feed only this to your cats they will NOT be getting a balanced diet. I am not sure why this is as the ingredients looked great. I will do more research. Everything other than this is great though, our cats all love it and good pricing

Top notch nosh for my feline friends!!

All my cats love their weekly treat of Applaws. I enjoy serving it as it looks like real food, nothing like the highly processed packet foods. It's a hit here in many of the different options available.

So disappointing

If my cat was reviewing this, it'd be 5-star, she loves it and for years had a small tin of tuna Applaws every other day. However the quality has deteriorated significantly. It used to be good quality tuna but the amount of rice has increased and the product is now a starchy sticky mess of tuna and rice (I see others have also commented on this). I've stopped buying it and give her portions of human-grade tuna in spring water, no sticky rice and she enjoys it equally.

Smells a lot, like fish of course... But my cats love it and I can be sure I am serving them the best quality and pure food without any unnecessary additives

My two tabbies Mulder & Scully love this food! Their favourite is the chicken and cheese, they always end up licking their bowls clean! I make sure I have some in the cupboard at all times. The best food at such a good price!

mixed flavor saver pack

I have 8 Cats so as you can imagine it cost a fortune to feed and as there are a couple on special need food extra expense. I feed a variety of foods Applaws is a favourite but having to buy 24 of one variety sometimes does not work so well as cats like an assortment of tastes so the one thing missing from the range is a multi mix of flavours

Superfood!

I breed Burmese and couldn't recommend any other brand of wet food - this really is the best - along with your choice of dry, complete diet.

Absolute Applawsilicious

I have 9 cats, 7 boys 2 Girls. The girls are Prima Donna's of the highest order. They eat chicken Applaws only, nothing else is good enough for them. I dread to think what would happen if I could no longer buy it from my favourite company, Zoo plus. I do believe they would leave home! Of course if I win this voucher it will go towards the purchase of more Applaws.
