Was good but now it’s just a sloppy mess
Since they changed the manufacturing location, the food has been exceedingly wet (I can see other comments also saying this). I actually wrote to Hills saying this and they responded with a bunch of PR blah, which is very disappointing

Hills z/d sensitive diet - wet wet wet!!
My dog has been on this meat for a few years now, he loved it, it was solid and meaty. However, it has changed over the last few months, it is now sloppy, wet and he struggles to eat it... I don't know whats happened to it! It needs to be changed!!!

Dog won’t touch it
This a dreadful looking product which my dog will not touch. She hasn’t eaten for 3 days and still won’t eat this. It’s a grey/black paste which we are having to mix with other foods to get her to use up our purchase. Will not be repurchasing

Reliable brand
My 4 year old frenchie has a sensitive digestion.
She's always had unstable stools and lost a lot of weight now.
Vets and specialists say more diagnostics needed (and more money to pay for it). We started this wet canned z/d food after another dry Hill's food which she could not tolerate and would just shoot out with watery stools.
Hills gives full guarantee refunds if the food you bought doesn't suit your dog. So we got refunded for the first food we tried. This food seems to work better

Hill Prescription Diet
My vet recommended this food for one my allergy prone dogs. Both seem to enjoy the food although doesn't look very appealing. Only negative as some tins arrived dented and one I had to throw away as mouldy.

Improved our dog's health
Our papillon has PLE (Protein leaking enteropathy) & was very unwell with it. Following the vets recommendation we've been using Hills z/d (mixed with mini adult kibble) & saw visible improvement within a few days. She loves the taste & despite it looking like mud or dry soil to use, she really likes it ! Her condition has considerably improved.

My dog won’t eat it
My Yorki dose not like the texture or taste of this product
Not for us
Unfortunately these aren't sold in small quantities by zooplus which is a shame, so I've purchased a large amount of food that doesn't suit my dog. I'm guessing there is no refund even if the remaining tins are unused so it's a lot of money for something that may not (and hasn't) helped. My dog has a lot of reflux issues but getting her to eat this was challenging & the food she did eat which I gradually mixed in with her current hypoallergenic food seemed to make it worse not better.

The best for food sensitivities
Our 14 year old JRT had on and off enteritis every couple of weeks for bout 18 months. Tried lots of different natural foods, including home cooked, to no avail. After some medication to reduce gut inflammation she has been on this wet food plus home cooked chicken breast and absolutely fine since. 6 months and still ok. Definitely worth the extra expense - saves you loads in vet bills!

Last resort for our golden retriever
We have a 1YO golden retriever who has always had on/off diarreah since we brought him home. He’s been checked over for everything & we finally established that he has a VERY sensitive digestion. Our vet recommended we move him to Hills z/d wet & dry food after one particularly nasty bout of diarrhea, when chicken + rice failed too. It worked like magic & he loves it! He’s now a very happy boy again :-)
Disappointed
After using this food for over a year as it was perfect for our frenchie. We struggled to get hold of tins then hills changed the formula. As we couldn’t get hold of tins we were unable to transition our dog to the new formula. Now our dog seems to dislike the new formula.
Z/d wet dog food
Fed up with not being able to get this for people like me who have dogs who can only have this food it makes you worried that you will have nothing to feed them. Also noticed that they put the price up making it even more expensive we buy it because we don't want our pets to be I'll.

Z/D wet food
Our Shihtzu was recommended by our vet to have, it’s been fantastic for him. He has gone from being fussy to loving his food - he cleans his bowl every time and his gut has been so settled - just the stress of being able to get it now.

Happy to see my dog enjoy his food
After having a parasite my dog had a very sensitive tummy. This was a great food for him to get excited about and lick the bowl while recovering from the trauma in his intestines the parasites left behind.

Not Hypoallergenic at All
The second main ingredient in this is Maize... which lots of dogs are allergic to. I tried my dog on this food and within a week we had to take her to the vets, she was so ill off this food

Hill excellent value
My Chihuahuas were always at vets with tummy upsets now both eat Hills Prescription food wet ZD and ID although expensive than normal dog foods and I’m a Pensioner age 71 on pension I don’t get so many vet bills because of tummy upsets

Worked for us
My dogs have been on this for 2 years now, no more itchy hotspots or dodgy tummy’s. Went through lots of tests, but if we had gone on this in the beginning could hav3 saved a fortune.

Change in consistency
The food has been coming with a disgusting texture for a while now. Each time, my dog eats it worse. I thought it was just a one-off batch, but it’s been like this since around Easter. It’s way too mushy; before, it was more jelly-like, we used to cut it into little cubes and he’d eat it perfectly, but now it’s just a sticky mess that leaves the bowl filthy and gets all gummy in the dog’s mouth. PLEASE GO BACK TO THE OLD FORMULA!

z/d Food Sensitivities Original (24 x 370 g)
Incorrect information
Very disappointed that Zooplus displays incorrect nutritional information for a product intended even for animals with medical issues.
For the Hill’s Prescription Diet z/d can, the website lists a fat content of 1.9%. I bought the product specifically based on this information for a dog who also suffers from pancreatitis, where the fat percentage is not a minor detail but an important criterion in choosing the diet.
After I received the product and checked the label

It broke down
The dog is scratching himself, and inside there's something that doesn't resemble the old consistency... it's a shame, it used to be an amazing product. We're looking for a replacement.

Has become too sticky
The texture was fine at first, but now it’s become sticky. Not easy for our old dachshund to eat, we have to mix in some kibble.

Change the consistency!
The canned food has become too much like porridge. There's way too much water. Remove the excess water! Make it drier.

IBD
I have a British Collie with chronic bleeding gastritis and IBD. Of course, my dog is under veterinary care and takes Sucrabest (fennel, probiotics, and slippery elm). But she tolerates this food better than others. Her symptoms of food intolerance have also improved a lot with this food. Given her medical history, I took several months to gradually switch her food. I can recommend this z/D canned food.

We're switching over now
I've been buying this food for years because of my dog's intolerance. But for the past few months, they've changed the consistency—it's disgusting. You have to add loads of water just so the dog can even eat it. We're now looking for alternatives. And at that price!

Finally healthy
My dog suffered for years from diarrhoea, vomiting, and chronic intestinal inflammation. Since he started eating this food, he’s finally doing really well and is truly thriving. After years of diarrhoea and recurring inflammation, he’s now free of symptoms for the first time. I’m so grateful that this product exists.

Folder
I noticed that the food changed its consistency a long time ago. I thought maybe it was a storage issue at the warehouse, but it doesn’t matter where you order it from. This food once saved my dog’s health, now it’s just a mush that can’t be eaten. It’s sad because it was one of the foods my dog actually ate and it really helped. Now, during walks, there’s no difference anymore. The food has gone where it belongs – to the dogs.

Thick consistency
Ever since production moved from the USA to Italy, the food has a dark, very sticky consistency. After meals, I have to bathe/wash/launder the dog and everything around him. On top of that, my dog started losing a lot of weight (zero nutritional value). We still use Hills dry food (z/d mini) alternately with wet food from another brand. We definitely do not recommend this wet food.
