New Recipe! 12kg
“New Recipe” = Less Meat
I have been buying Wolf of Wilderness dog food for many years but I might be just about ready to swap. With the recent “new recipe”, advertised like it is a positive thing, the meat content has been cut dramatically, and the zip lock on the bag has been removed. I’m assuming costs have gone up, but I would rather have paid slightly more to maintain product quality.

Great food for your dog
I've been using this food for a bit now, my chocolate lad loves the food and her clothe lovely and soft and shine.

Years of relationship
It's almost 15 years that I'm using zooplus service.
Top a top
Great food
Our Labradoodle is thriving on this food. She is healthy with a lovely glossy coat. More importantly, what comes out the other end, firm and non smelly poops!

Excellent!
My Rottweilers have thrived on this brand and every variety they have tried, they have loved. One has a delicate tummy and all Wolf of Wilderness has been great! I usually buy 2x12kg and it brilliant you can have 2 different varieties. The price of another brand hiking it's price up made me try WofW and as long as they can keep the price down, I will be happy to keep buying. Happy dogs, happy owner.

All flavours are 41% chicken and only 4-8% the named meat.
Surely this is misleading. For dogs who are allergic to chicken, buying a dog food listed as "lamb" or "venison", to then find out down in the small print that it is actually mostly (41%) chicken, with just a hint of the named meat, is a con.

Helped with the bum pops ;)
I have two french bulldogs..tried the raw diet..and the royal canin french bulldog food..and their bum pops were awful...have been using wolf of the wilderness and the bum pop problem is no longer a problem.... and theu love this food..all the different flavours are a hit..110% recommended

Excellent
My greyhound was losing weight on the other dry dog food, despite being given the correct amount. Also she was very hungry after eating it, so I decided to try Wolf of the Wilderness dog food and she loves it. My dog is very content and happy now, plus she is putting the weight back on now. I love a very happy dog and give them this food.

First successful dry food we've tried!
I've had my saluki-lurcher for almost two years now, always been a very on the go chap, and an incredibly fussy eater. I always struggled to keep any weight on him, he was underweight even for a slim dog breed. And he'd constantly get bored of whatever food I tried after a few weeks. Then I found Wolf of Wilderness! He's excited for every meal (even after 8 months of the same thing!) and is in perfect condition, bright eyed, fast as ever and perfect, not so smelly, poops. I love this brand!

Excellent food
I can't say my dog is fussy, but her tummy is and we have to be careful what we feed her. With some foods we struggle to keep weight on her. Wolf of Wilderness is excellent. Her weight is stable, she looks great and her poops are firm. Perfect!

Fantastic Food
I have three large breed dogs who all absolutely loved this food. The food has a good meat content and all my dogs look amazing on it.

Grain-free, and well accepted
My cockapoo (I prefer cockapoodle!) has an allergy to maize, and we've tried several grain-free products. Wolf of Wilderness has a good meat content and is reasonably priced. Archie 'wolfs' it down and is looking extremely healthy on it, so it's now his regular food.
Best kibble we've tried
My mastiff x is a bit of a picky madam and is not at all keen on dry food even when mixed with canned to disguise it. To my surprise she will eat this kibble on its own, and seems to prefer it this way. I will definitely order more, although it would be good if they could do it in a larger kibble size for large breeds.

Dogs Loving it !
I have been using Taste of the Wild for 6 years but thought the dogs could do with a change. They love Wolf of the Wilderness and I had no issues swapping over from one to the other. The food is larger but that does not seem to have caused any issue at all even for my daughter's little Poochi (Poodle/Chihuahua cross). Would certainly recommend.
Dog gets very thirsty
This is the second Wolf Of Wilderness we have tried for our dog and he has enjoyed them both without being picky in any way. The venison kibbles seem to have a strange effect though: he is incredibly thirsty afterwards. When out on a long walk with him, he was literally stopping every few MINUTES to get another drink. Fine when the weather is wet and there are plenty of streams and puddles but this would be worrying in dry hot weather. We will stick with the other flavours in future!

Excellent food for fussy eaters.
I buy the Sunny Glade and the wet Oak Woods "Wild Boar" and and i am so impressed.
My 2 Shih Tzu's brother and sister are so fussy you would not believe, and they woof this down without any question.
They are far more happier and there coats are lovely soft and shinny, I WILL NOT BE CHANGING THIS FOOD FOR ANYTHING ELSE, I am so impressed.

By far the best best
This is by far the best dry dog food that we have had for our dogs. I have a very fussy eating {Border Terrier} unusual I know for that breed as they normally lap up anything put in front of them, not my Cooper. Wolf of the Wilderness is the first premium dry food that we have had that he can not wait to "wolf" down. His coat condition is great, poo's output and quality is great. Product is bit pricey though, we have to wait till it comes on special and order in bulk.

My dog refused to eat this
My dog has Orijen but that has been unavailable in small bags for some time so I thought I would try this. However even though he is usually very enthusiastic for a change he has refused to eat even one of these kibbles.

Transformational
All our 3 dogs love this food but I should especially mention our 10 year old Cavalier, Holly. She's been a picky eater all her life and we've always had trouble keeping her weight up. Not with this food, she 'wolfs' it down (sorry for the pun) and is putting on weight at last. Our vet can't believe it, and has taken details to pass on to other clients! Just brilliant!

Quality dog food
I have two French Bulldogs and a Pug. When I got this food I was worried that they would have trouble with the kibble size as it's quite big for flat faced breeds. I was wrong they love this food so much that they take their time to chew it.
They tolerate it very well with great coat condition and solid poo's.
I would recommend this food to anyone. It has brilliant meat content and high protein.
My dogs are show dogs so it's important to me that they stay slim and healthy, this food is great for that.

Without a fastener
The packaging now comes without a closure—why??? Honestly, you’d have to be pretty daft to come up with something like that 🤦

Damaged packaging
Nothing to say about the quality of the beans, that's a 10, but the packaging leaves much to be desired. This is the second time that one of the two 12kg bags I ordered was open along the side seam. The box in which the two bags were delivered shows no signs of damage, so I conclude it's a manufacturing defect. Even so, it happens far too often.

Change in composition
Really a shame that they've changed the recipe, which means they're not appetising at all anymore. My 5-year-old dog, who's always had these, won't eat them now... After looking into it, I found out you've reduced the percentage of fresh meat in the ingredients, and the size of the kibbles changes with every order. The bags aren't resealable anymore either, but the price hasn't gone down. All in all, I'll have to switch brands for better quality.

Venison – Grain-Free
Unfortunately, the title of this product confused me. Venison – grain-free would have been perfect. Unfortunately, my dog can't tolerate anything with chicken at all. I didn't see that in the product description. Sadly, I have to return it.

Misleading Description
The food contains mostly chicken; the description "venison" is very misleading. Unfortunately, it's not suitable for my dog with allergies.

cannot close the bag
The plastic zip lock is not on the bag, it is coming without it. You can’t close it once you’ve opened it and for a 12 kg pack this is not acceptable.

No more purchases since the new food formula
Such a shame, this flavour used to be one of my favourites from Wolf of Wilderness. Unfortunately, the meat content has now been drastically reduced in all the new recipes, while the price has stayed the same. I didn’t notice this when I placed my order, so the new formula ended up in the bowl by accident. My dog tolerated it about the same, but there was more bad breath. In the future, I won’t be ordering any of the new, reduced recipes from WoW, but will switch to another brand instead.
