Kibble is very small

My GSD x Collie has recently been diagnosed with stage 1 kidney disease. Only given three stars because although she has taken to this food quite well, I feel she would do better with a larger sized kibble. She is quite a big dog and does struggle sometimes with the tiny biscuits, they are only 11mm which is quite a lot less than she's used to. Hill's have told me that all their kibble is the same size so she'll either have to get used to it or I'll find something else.

Miracle food

Our 12 year old whippet was diagnosed with kidney failure and this food has transformed his life. Literally overnight the change in him was visible. Able to hold his bladder longer than 2 hours and not drinking copious amounts of water.

Pretty Miraculous!

Hills Kidney Care dry food transformed my 14 year old Staffie. She was drinking huge amounts of water, typical of dogs with kidney disease, and was, after blood tests, diagnosed with that at the vet. We had been feeding her a low salt, low protein good kibble, but the vet suggested we change. We chose Hills Hills Kidney Care and she perked up immediately. Now, 4 months later, she has returned from another vet checkup and has been pronounced kidney disease free! Better than we ever expected.

Hills kd

The food is obviously nutritious but my dog, who is very food driven, gets bored with it

Kd food

My dog loves this and is thriving on it

A product that really works.

Our dog was diagnosed with renal failure 18 months ago and we were told that his life expectancy was 6 months. We moved to a Hill's prescription diet (kibble + tinned) and our lovely Collie is still with us (aged 15 years old). He doesn't like the kidney diet products as much as his former food but it has been much better for his health and general well being. The delivery service from Zooplus is excellent.

Greasey small kibble dog hates it !

Greasey food , small kibble my poor 13 year old lab is struggling to eat this. He ate normal sized kibble with ease. Hills you need to do larger kibble as not every dog is small. Waste of my money. Back to drawing board to find a renal food for him now

Hopefully the . That put her right

My girl has had to start this diet because of her kidneys degenerating

My dog hates it

My dog will not touch this. I am a bit annoyed that the smallest quantity I could buy is 12kg only to find my cocker will not touch it. Even well mixed with the wet food she leaves the lot. Waste of money and a problem to find something she can eat. Turns out she also has pancreatitis and Hills K/D is too high in fat.

Does the job!,

Via routine blood tests we found out that both our dogs had high creatinine levels, so the vet suggested changing their diet to a kidney protecting diet. We firstly bought the Hills Kidney diet food from the vet, but then found it MUCH cheaper at Zooplus. Within a couple of months of eating this food (they still, had some Normal treats too!) both of our dogs had reduced creatinine levels (top of normal range). We have kept feeding them a mix of the dry & wet food & kept buying it at Zooplus

Prescription diet

Prescribed by the vet for my older dog who is losing kidney function. Good product which he will eat by itself but prefers a little of the wet product mixed in. Delivered on time by a friendly driver.

Hills KD

Just recieved my first order, certainly not my last! Fast & prompt service for a type of dog food that isnt readily accessible in normal pet shops without having to pay the extortionate prices via the vets! I would heartily recommend to anyone who is after specialist dog kibble delivered to your door.

Hills prescription K/d

Our vet recommended hills prescription k/d to us when nearly two years ago our rottie Stella was diagnosed with early renal failure. This food has been wonderful for Stella. Her condition has got better in that her levels have reduced and she is keeping so well monitoring has gone from three monthly, to six monthly to now take her for a renal check up if we are concerned. She is now 10.5 years old and looks tremendous. We often receive comments on how well she looks for an old rottie. The food is readily eaten, Stella seems to enjoy it. Pricing is always competitive and delivery excellent. All round a super product.

Canine kidney diet

Our Labrador has just been diagnosed with early renal failure. The vet sold us a small supply of Hills KD and told us to use this new food only - no treats. I found Zooplus on the web and was impressed with their prices. Better still, their delivery was very quick, even over a Bank Holiday weekend. Just hope that this new diet will extend her time with us.

Excellent

On my vet's advice, I'm satisfied—Gyndie, my 14-and-a-half-year-old poodle, eats the kibble easily as well as the pâté.

Good to eat

My 10-year-old Rottweiler pretty much eats anything, so he polished off these kibbles in no time as well.

Good to eat

10-year-old Rottweiler eats everything, and with these kibbles he makes short work of them too!

I’m going to have to look for a more affordable site, even though the kibble is really good!

Adaptation Process

After Macarena’s diagnosis at almost 15 years old, we started making all the changes. At first, she didn’t even want a single kibble—she was hungry, but she didn’t like them. She’d take them out of the bowl one by one and eat the old ones instead. She lost quite a bit of weight. Now, well, it seems like she’s eating some of them, though a bit reluctantly, of course. It’s definitely a good product, but...
