Customers appreciate the durability and fun factor of the stick for various dog breeds, with many enjoying tug-of-war and fetch games. However, some find it less indestructible than expected, as certain dogs manage to chew it apart. The toy is praised for being safe and sturdy, but a few dogs show disinterest. Overall, it's a popular choice for interactive play, especially when used as intended for throwing and fetching, not chewing.
Durable for various dog breeds
Great for interactive play such as tug-of-war and fetch
Less indestructible than expected for some dogs

Favourite toy
We had the medium stick for our 6-year-old Rottweiler for about a year. He didn’t manage to break it and had loads of fun with it, but unfortunately, it didn’t survive the lawn tractor. So we reordered it straight away, this time in large, and he loves it.

Kong Save Stick
Overall, a great toy, great material, but... for something that's supposed to be an indestructible Kong Stick, it doesn't meet expectations at all, unfortunately... after half a year, both balls at the ends were chewed off by our Lab 😳... hence, 2 stars deducted.

Couldn't be without them
Our two boys love these. We have a Lab and a Border Collie and they play tug of war with it and Henry (the Lab) plays with it hilariously while on walks and loves to retrieve it from the river. I don't understand how so many dogs seem to be destroying them. They last for ages here although we do only use them on walks. My main criticism, however, is not being able to choose the colour. The red ones are much harder for many dogs to see in grass or water.

is not accepted
My dog completely ignores the toy.
Tried everything to make it as interesting as possible, tried everything. He just doesn't like it. Unfortunately.

New favourite toy
Brilliant item, the new favourite toy of my two dogs (Aussie and Shepherd mix). I got size S, it's perfect for tug-of-war, chasing each other, and fetching. Seems to be very sturdy, but we'll see – it's only been in use for three days so far...

Not a chew toy
I can't understand all the negative comments. The description clearly states that this is a throw-and-fetch toy and not a chew toy. When used correctly, it's a very good toy.

Held up well
My destructive golden retriever normally destroys toys as a hobby but this has lasted ages! Gets totally abused and tested but has held up really well!

Short Chewing Fun
I can also agree with the negative reviews. My 6-month-old Swiss chewed it up within an hour, leaving us with two pieces.

The only toy...
... which my dog (mixed breed, 4 years old) absolutely loves even when we're out and about. Now we can play fetch games during walks and work on impulse control. Since he generally doesn’t tend to destroy things, I can’t really comment on durability. You just have to be able to put up with the cheeky remarks from people while you're out...

Depends on the dog
We bought the Safestix for our dog (Aussie-Bernese Mountain Dog) and for our daughter's Labrador. While ours loves the stick and can't manage to break it, the Labrador had it in pieces within 1.5 hours. I still think it's a good product though.

Disappointment
Unfortunately, my dog (Australian Shepherd) managed to break the product on the first day. He chewed on it a little, and then it tore in two places straight away. I had no choice but to throw it away. Such a shame about the money...

Not durable.
My Chihuahua loves it and enjoys playing with it, but our Lab had it destroyed after just 5 minutes of play. Such a shame. I'll happily order it again for the little one, but not for the big one. I don't think the price-performance ratio is fair.

Didn't even last 5 minutes...
We’ve come to expect better from "Kong"... our dog didn’t even play with the toy for 5 minutes – not a trace of "durable"... poof... it was broken straight away...
What a shame about the money. At just over €9, it’s too expensive.

Really cool
For a small dog, it's really a good size. Not too hard and still sturdy.
