Can help with hip dysplasia
The powder initially helped my dog after she was diagnosed with hip dysplasia. The paw dragging reduced or even stopped completely for a while. However, the dragging has now returned. Once the tub is empty, I’ll try 100% mussel powder, as I find the price here quite high for only 20% green-lipped mussel extract.

Luposan as powder for a 13-year-old German Shepherd bitch
My German Shepherd has only been getting Luposan for a few days now. She’s a little over 13 years old. I’ve noticed that she really enjoys eating it and even licks the bowl clean afterwards. I can’t say anything about its effects yet, as that will only become apparent over time. I ordered it because she has issues with her musculoskeletal system and I’m hoping it will help improve things a bit, as it’s supposed to have a soothing effect.

Luposan
My 15-year-old DD has spondylosis, and on the vet's advice, I've been giving this product for weeks.
Unfortunately, there has been more of a worsening.
As of today, I’m giving three times the amount and will wait to see if there’s any improvement.
I haven’t given any painkillers so far; perhaps homeopathic ones could be an option. Unfortunately, I don’t know much about them...!

Appetite stimulating
I’ve been feeding the powder for over a week now. My 14-year-old lady dog has issues with her rear knee. With a bit of imagination, I can say there’s been a slight improvement. One thing’s for sure though – it’s tasty! Ever since I started mixing it into her wet food, she’s been standing next to me in the morning and won’t leave my side until she gets her meal, and she eats it all straight away (she hasn’t done that in ages)!

Could be better
My dog has Pl.1, it helped a little as she lifts her left hind leg less often. But I had hoped for more. She ate it willingly when mixed into her food and diluted with water. Unfortunately, she doesn’t tolerate this powder; she developed crusts on her ears and belly. She scratched herself a bit bloody because of it. I stopped giving it two weeks ago, and lo and behold, everything is back to normal. She seems to be allergic to it. By the way, she’s now walking just as well as she did while taking the powder.

Only mediocre
My 8-year-old dog has mild arthritis, and I’ve been feeding him this product for almost four months now, after my vet recommended a dietary supplement and raised no objections to Luposan. While my dog’s limping has almost completely disappeared since December and he no longer needs medication, I’d still like to avoid promoting Luposan as a miracle cure for joint problems. In our case, it was at best supportive, but certainly not solely responsible for the improvement. If Luposan helped at all, it was likely over a longer period and not within just 1–2 weeks.
My conclusion is that you can use it as a dietary supplement, but you should always seek veterinary advice if your dog is limping and also consider adjusting your dog’s daily routine a bit. For example, my dog no longer climbs stairs, and I’ve also reduced the length of walks and playtime.
Relying solely on Luposan and hoping things will improve on their own is definitely not the right approach!

mediocre
Unlike my predecessors, my dogs absolutely love the Gelenkkraft.
My male Doberman is now four years old and often limps on his right foreleg after jogging. The vet mentioned the early stages of mild arthritis.
I stopped jogging for now, doubled the dosage for two weeks, then reduced it as per the manufacturer's recommendation and started light jogging again a few days ago.
The next morning, the dog was limping again. Now I've doubled the dosage once more and will wait to see what happens.
The mussel extract is significantly lower in comparison to competing products, which unfortunately aren't available at Zooplus.

Strong aftertaste
Whether Luposan has any effect, I can't really say yet – we've only been feeding it for about 3 weeks. BUT: it has a very strong aftertaste – my dog only eats it now that I mix it into yoghurt. I think I'll go back to the more expensive product from the vet, which comes in pellet form and apparently tastes better.
