Not very successful

I wish I could have tried this as part of a test. They will only eat it mixed with their regular Hill's mature dry food. Now I have to buy more of that to use this up!

Hill’s Science Plan Sterilised Cat

received this product for free as part of a Home Tester Club product test. I trust Hill’s as a brand, so I was happy to try this for my oldish, neutered cat. My cat isn’t usually fussy and will normally devour dry food, but this time there was no great excitement — she ate it, but didn’t exactly rush back for more. I also noticed that the recipe seems cereal-heavy. I prefer food that feels more meat-based rather than like “dry bread”. It’s probably a well-formulated food from Colgate-Palmolive.

Super for senior cats

My cat Misha is 11 years old and has always been a fussy eater so we tend to stick to the same wet and dry food. So we had not tried her on hills biscuits before. Well I was totally surprised. As I was pouring the big bag into her caddy she stretched up and nibbled biscuits from the caddy. Great start. I filled her bowl and she ate them straight away. They are smaller type pellets and crunchy. received this product for free in exchange for your honest opinion as part of a Home Tester Club

My cats wouldn’t touch it sadly!

I have tried several times since this product arrived but my cats just won’t touch it. If I’m honest it doesn’t smell great and smells like horse feed. I received this product for free as part of a Home Tester Club product test in exchange for my honest opinion

My cats won’t touch it.

I received this product free to test but unfortunately neither of my cats will touch it. I have tried them with it several times but they turn their noses up every time. If I’m honest it doesn’t smell great, it smells a bit like horse feed to me.

Fussy cats loved it !

I had my reservations over whether my nature cat would eat it as she is very fussy but she lived it ! She wolfed it down every day and even fought off my younger cat who wanted to tuck in too! Her coat seems softer and shinier now she’s had it for two weeks and I’m pleased she is liking it ! Hill's dry cat food

My cat us absolutely obsessed with hills dry cat food. She loves the taste, it didn't give her upset stomach and whenever she hears me opening the bag she just runs into the kitchen. Amazing product I received this product for free as part of a Home Tester Club product test.

Not a firm favorite of my cats

I slowly introduced them to this hills science dry food but my cats doesn't seem to be great big fan of this food unfortunately. They'll eat it eventually if I mixed it in with their favourite dry food. The size of the kibbles around medium, not the smallest nor the biggest I ever used. I received this product for free as part of a Home Tester Club product test.

Idhunna Loved It

Introduced Hills gradually, absolutely no adverse reactions. Idhunna seemed to enjoy the kibble and looks well after a couple of weeks. However my boys, turned their noses up and wouldn't even try it. So probably wouldn't buy, as I prefer to stick to one kibble I received this product for free as part of a Home Tester Club product test.

Not for my cats

Unfortunately this was not a winner with either of my cats. Both eat dried food regularly and refused to touch this food. They are 8 years old and are in the right bracket to be able to benefit the food, but I wasn’t able to see if there was a difference from eating it as they turned their noses up to it. It may benefit other cats in the same age, but not ours in this instance I received this product for free as part of a Home Tester Club product test.

Hills an winner

Harper was not sure of this food at first but after an few days of it he started to gobble it down, He is really enjoying it and waits eagerly for his next bowl. I as his mum love all the added benefits it gives like prebiotic fibres and hairball reductions. So all in all its an winner in my eyes. I received this product for free as part of a Home Tester Club product test.

I can already see a change in my cats energy levels

My cat is a fussy eater so at first she wasn't sure about this new Hills cat food but by slowly introducing it into her diet she really enjoyed it and without any tummy upset. She has lost quite a few of her teeth with age but had no problems eating this food and happily cleared every bowl we gave her. We have only tried this food for just over 2 weeks now but we can already see an increase in her energy levels which is great at her age. I received this product for free as part of a Home Test

Amazing cat food

My cat loves this food, she seems sooo happy on this food and seems to really like it. Her fur seems more shiny and healthier.

Would Never Buy Again

Both of my cats weren't particularly keen on this food like others they've had in the past. I've barely gotten through 500g and both have now got stud tail! They've never had it before in their lives. Their skin is so dry and the only change they've had is this dry food. So 7.5kg has now gone to waste. I'd rather that than put my cats through the agony with their sore skin.

Not worth it

My cats ate this food. It had a detrimental effect on their skin and fur, it turned very dry and I was told it was because its low fat food.

After years of eating this my cat refuses to eat eat.

I have given my cats this from young and change to mature after they were 7 years old. I lost JoJo two years ago. Kazzy never left any of the food. But I opened the new bag and she has refused to touch it. She eats her treats so no teeth problems. I have asked Hill if they have changed the formula - something is different.

Awful.

We have loads of cats and none of them will touch this. We have put out over a number of days but no interest. Not recommended.

Wouldn't eat

We went from science plan light 1-6 chicken to this mature sterilised and my cat wouldn't touch it. Had to give 2x10kg bags away.

Ms

I've got 2 cats. Bibi is 15 years old and Monty is 11. Both of my cats refused to eat Hills Science Plan Mature Adult Sterilised Chicken dry food. I've got a big pack 10kg and I fear I will have to order completely new food as this is a second week and every day it's the same..bowls are not empty by the end of a day. I've tried everything, mixing food with favourite treats or giving smaller portion or trying to make them hungry but this only made Monty to try to savage my neighbour's cat dinner

Superb kibble

I bought these kibbles based on my vet’s advice. My 10-year-old cat was starting to get a bit of arthritis, and as a result, he lost weight while still eating enough. He doesn’t rush to his bowl anymore and no longer has arthritis thanks to the 2.2kg he lost. At 10 years old, he runs, jumps, hunts, and plays just like when he was 1!!! I’m getting another bag!! The 10kg pack lasted 8 months.

Strong, ok

My kitty cleans out his bowl first with these kibbles, which means he really likes them, and only afterwards eats from the other bowl where I put a different type of Royal Canin kibbles (those are good too, but it seems that he prefers Hills over them).

Two years of use and still perfect

After reading the reviews and seeing that many cats had refused them, I made a slow transition, which allowed me to use up the old kibble. It took 15 days in total, gradually increasing the amount of this kibble compared to the old one, and it went perfectly. My cat stopped gaining weight and gently lost 300g—he's now stable, eats his kibble without ever turning his nose up at it, and has had no digestive issues.

Good feed and shiny coat

Our cat has been eating Hill's Science for neutered cats since he was a kitten, so he’s had both the young adult and now the mature variety. We have a happy cat with a beautiful coat.

My cat won't eat this anymore

When I first bought the food, my cat really liked eating it. But after a few months, she didn’t want it anymore, so I donated the food.

Tastes good

It tastes good and can easily be eaten now and then, especially when there’s no wet food within reach.

Meh, not great!

Given the age of my two cats, I switched to these kibbles while still sticking with Hill’s. At first, I thought they were working, since the cats were eating less and seemed to regulate themselves. But over the months, it became clear that they just don’t like them. One of my cats even started losing weight and vomiting regularly, and eventually developed pancreatitis. Since they only eat this food, I have serious doubts! I do not recommend these kibbles!

Cats don’t like it – but it’s good.

Cats don’t like these kibbles, which is also why I buy them. My old overweight cat has lost almost 1kg now that he doesn’t throw himself at the food anymore. Also, when I go away, I can calmly put a dispenser outside for them without all the neighbourhood cats rushing over—there’s still some left when I get back. Still, when they’re hungry, they give in. And I have other bags of “good” kibbles at home, just not available all the time.
