animonda Carny Adult 6 x 400g

I tried a few varieties of these after moving on from the single protein version when reintroducing foods after trial elimination diet. She wasn't as impressed with these as the single protein ones and I needed up having to give most of them away. Probably more as she also started to be treated for overactive thyroid so became even more picky. Even after a month's break and tried again and she wouldn't eat them. The cats the food was donated to ate happily

I have a cat that is allergic to chicken & poultry. I thought animonda Carny beef varieties were the answer to my prayers & it was…..my cats skin was perfect!! And then my cat started biting & scratching himself raw again just as the packaging changed. To my horror the recipes have changed & now in the ingredients all the beef varieties now contain…. Chicken!!!! I am so disappointed.

This is another used to be great cat food, that was a reasonable price. I've now stopped purchasing it because more of a tin goes in the bin than the cats were eating. Between the chunks of visible fat throughout the food and anything from a a teaspoon full of fat or more in the bottom of the tins, my six cats started refusing to eat it, even the local stray would rather look elsewhere than touch it.

My three all said no to this one. Been good if I had the choice of a single tin, gets a bit expensive when your trying different things out.

Good volume tin with several meals hit cats not into it

Looks and smells good, but none of my three cats will touch it, even when I left it down with no alternative. Can't give a better rating as I can only be guided by their reactions

I've tried different flavours with my cats, but so far they only like the beef & chicken one... Overall I like this brand as it's grain and sugar free but it has gotten more expensive oder the years.

I wanted to try a new canned food for my cat, Beefy, who has become quite fussy, turning his nose up at firstly Butchers and then Whiskas. The food looks quite meaty, he ate it all up and asked for seconds. A few weeks later, he is still eating it - win! There was a slight issue with the tins in that the lids were a bit bulging - this is nothing to worry about - Zooplus contacted the manufacturer who got in touch to explain their canning process- excellent service!

Its not the most appetising looking food - though full of meat, with little jelly or gravy - the cat was not a fan.

Used to be really great and now full of skin snd gristle. Odered one more time, but also trying other brand. If they won't improve, they will be loosing many clients

I ordered Thai food on account of the excellent reviews. That’s the last time I pay attention to reviews! I cannot possibly state how terrible this food is. It has large (!) chunks of skin tissue and gristle in it, has congealed fat at the top and bottom of the cans, smells rotten and our cat won’t touch either flavour, preferring kibble which says a lot! I couldn’t bring myself to donate this to a shelter it is so bad. cheap supermarket brands would be 100% better than this junk. Why Zooplus?

We've been buying Carny (most flavours) for our two cats since 2013. Our cats really enjoyed the good quality, grain free, high meat content . However, during the last few months the 400g tins have contained considerably more solid fat, and the entire contents are now encased in a 3-4 mm layer of jelly. Our Boys don't seem as keen, even after I have painstakingly removed most of the lumps of fat and jelly. We're having to look at alternatives. A real shame.

I've been buying this for the past 3 years and it was always good quality, until this latest batch. The quality has definitely gone down! With this latest order there is now 1/2" thick layers of pure fat at the bottom of each can!! All previous cans have had actual cat food right down to the very bottom of the can. I ordered 24 cans but if this continues through them all, I won't be buying this again.

My two cats loved this brand for over six months, absolutely wolfed it down every time. They won't touch it now, not even when crying for food. This happened between one order and the next. Has the maker changed the recipe?

I bought that food, as I am still trying to find the substitute for Gourmet. Unfortunately, none of our 4 cats touched it...

I ordered the beef & cod flavour because our boy likes fish and he absolutely loves it. Normally he goes for his dry food first and you sometimes have to trick him into eating his wet food. Not with this! He loves it and finishes it (almost) every time, sometimes even asking for seconds. So happy as we have been trying to find a brand of cat food that is healthy and which he likes. The price is really good, too, esp. if you buy a multipack. Excited to try the other flavours!

I have 3 house cats and 1 feral stable cat, only the feral will eat this. It looks and smells nice but obviously my house cats disagree. I won't purchase the very large tins again, I will just buy smaller ones for my feral.

I decided to switch from pouches (mostly Hills, Sheba & pets at home own brand) to cans - mainly to save costs. Frog didn't like this one at first - I think it was because the texture is very different to what she'd been used to - high meat content, so dry-ish without so much jelly or gravy that she'd been used to. In the end I mixed the first can with water to change the consistency, then stuck to the new foods that she seemed to like more. After a few weeks' gap, I've just tried a second can, and she has wolfed it down without any problems. It's very meaty - looks a bit like corned beef.

This food is great and I think reasonably priced. We used to buy Lily's Kitchen as one of my cats suffers from digestion problems, but Lilys was a bit hit and Miss and he still got a funny belly from it, so I looked around for alternative fuss free (grain, colouring, additives etc) cat food's and tried this. We use the Turkey and Rabbit and all 4 cats love it, are healthy and my problems cats stomach has improved greatly. And this is cheaper! Would definitely recommend!!

Decided to try this as I'm on the constant quest for good quality food that doesn't break the bank. Our three had been fed on Shiny Cat for a while (with RC dried food) because of some digestion problems and it was getting to the point where they were actually getting fed up of chicken. We've got a 3 cats with range of ages from 5 months to 17 years and there's little point on feeding age specific food as they all swap around. Decided to try Carny as it had a high meat content, no nasty additives and was suprisingly cheap. All three of ours absolutely love it regardless of variety. You can definitely tell it has a high meat content as you can play "guess the animal part"! It doesn't look great but actually doesn't smell too bad and you know that they are all getting a high quality food.

The contents seem good according to the label, but both cats don’t like the food anymore... We tried different varieties, including beef/poultry... But the cats only eat it when they’re really hungry, otherwise they leave it untouched... Such a shame...

For us, it's actually the other way around. My tomcat didn't like it at all for a long time. He really likes the new recipe (chicken with salmon). Since he's an outdoor cat, I can't say for sure if he might throw up later or even get diarrhoea. But it doesn't look like it 😊

After they changed the labels and ingredients, they added palm oil to most of the flavours! My three cats won’t even touch the tins now, so I end up throwing each one out every day. The smell has changed a lot too. Unfortunately, there must be something wrong, because for all three of them to refuse to eat, it’s hardly a coincidence. I wouldn’t recommend it!

Unfortunately, the beef option is poor quality. Our Maine Coons happily eat the poultry, but they won’t touch this one. The texture is awful – lumps of fat, the food is dry and smells bad. We won’t be ordering again.

My cats turn their noses up at this food. Why? No idea, since they happily eat everything else from Carny.

I don't know what happened, but one of my cats has been vomiting after eating this food. The formula has changed, there's a lot more fat at the bottom of the cans.

Ever since the label changed, the quality of the food has changed too. My 4 cats used to love this food (turkey with lamb), now they won’t touch it. The old version was the best. Why change something that was good? I don’t recommend it!

A few years ago, it was excellent, but after a while, my cats started refusing it. Even though I rotate their food, neither of them would touch Animonda. So I stopped buying it and looked for something else. I always buy only high-quality food for the whole month, so I choose different types and different meats. Especially because I have a kitty with a tumour on her spleen who has been holding on incredibly well for 8 months now, I have to be really careful with my choices. So after years, I decided to try Animonda again, just 6 cans to test, and I have to say, perfect.

Now the texture is more jelly-like, more ground up, and with whole pieces of heart (I assume chicken). My cats don’t like it anymore, especially the chicken cans, and before they used to gobble them up. It’s a shame, especially since they’re more expensive now. I’ll give them one last chance with another order to see if it was just a bad batch, but if not, I won’t buy them again.

Our cat ate it twice, vomited it up both times, and later refused it. What a shame.

The only food my cats finish completely. I recommend it.

The food has become terrible. It used to be one of my cats' favourite foods. They won't eat it anymore and get awful diarrhoea.

This used to be one of my cats’ favourite foods. Then suddenly they started having diarrhoea and vomiting. I thought it was because of the 800g tins and that the smaller ones would still be fine. But recently, even the 400g tins have been giving them bad diarrhoea. Really annoying, especially since I just spent over €100 on food. Plus, they don’t even like eating it anymore.

My tomcat really likes this food. So far, he has tried: • Multi-meat Cocktail • Chicken & Salmon • Beef & Lamb • Beef & Chicken • Beef, Turkey & Rabbit • Beef & Cod and he finished everything, with the first three being his favourites. Some varieties do have lumps of fat at the bottom, which you either have to remove or mix back in. Also, many of the varieties are basically the same, just with 4% of something else added. As a student, this food is perfect—affordable and good quality.

All my cats really love this wet food, even the neighbour's cats who sneak over to steal from their bowls. They also enjoy the version with hearts.

Besides being loved by all cats, it's an excellent product that respects the cat's nutritional needs.

Damaged cans I do not recommend

The food is poorly ground, there are strange leftovers in it, and it contains a lot of fat—it dries out quickly.
