I tried a few varieties of these after moving on from the single protein version when reintroducing foods after trial elimination diet. She wasn't as impressed with these as the single protein ones and I needed up having to give most of them away. Probably more as she also started to be treated for overactive thyroid so became even more picky. Even after a month's break and tried again and she wouldn't eat them. The cats the food was donated to ate happily

I have a cat that is allergic to chicken & poultry. I thought animonda Carny beef varieties were the answer to my prayers & it was…..my cats skin was perfect!! And then my cat started biting & scratching himself raw again just as the packaging changed. To my horror the recipes have changed & now in the ingredients all the beef varieties now contain…. Chicken!!!! I am so disappointed.

This is another used to be great cat food, that was a reasonable price. I've now stopped purchasing it because more of a tin goes in the bin than the cats were eating. Between the chunks of visible fat throughout the food and anything from a a teaspoon full of fat or more in the bottom of the tins, my six cats started refusing to eat it, even the local stray would rather look elsewhere than touch it.

My three all said no to this one. Been good if I had the choice of a single tin, gets a bit expensive when your trying different things out.

Looks and smells good, but none of my three cats will touch it, even when I left it down with no alternative. Can't give a better rating as I can only be guided by their reactions

I've tried different flavours with my cats, but so far they only like the beef & chicken one... Overall I like this brand as it's grain and sugar free but it has gotten more expensive oder the years.

I wanted to try a new canned food for my cat, Beefy, who has become quite fussy, turning his nose up at firstly Butchers and then Whiskas. The food looks quite meaty, he ate it all up and asked for seconds. A few weeks later, he is still eating it - win! There was a slight issue with the tins in that the lids were a bit bulging - this is nothing to worry about - Zooplus contacted the manufacturer who got in touch to explain their canning process- excellent service!

Its not the most appetising looking food - though full of meat, with little jelly or gravy - the cat was not a fan.

Used to be really great and now full of skin snd gristle. Odered one more time, but also trying other brand. If they won't improve, they will be loosing many clients

I ordered Thai food on account of the excellent reviews. That’s the last time I pay attention to reviews! I cannot possibly state how terrible this food is. It has large (!) chunks of skin tissue and gristle in it, has congealed fat at the top and bottom of the cans, smells rotten and our cat won’t touch either flavour, preferring kibble which says a lot! I couldn’t bring myself to donate this to a shelter it is so bad. cheap supermarket brands would be 100% better than this junk. Why Zooplus?

We've been buying Carny (most flavours) for our two cats since 2013. Our cats really enjoyed the good quality, grain free, high meat content . However, during the last few months the 400g tins have contained considerably more solid fat, and the entire contents are now encased in a 3-4 mm layer of jelly. Our Boys don't seem as keen, even after I have painstakingly removed most of the lumps of fat and jelly. We're having to look at alternatives. A real shame.

I've been buying this for the past 3 years and it was always good quality, until this latest batch. The quality has definitely gone down! With this latest order there is now 1/2" thick layers of pure fat at the bottom of each can!! All previous cans have had actual cat food right down to the very bottom of the can. I ordered 24 cans but if this continues through them all, I won't be buying this again.

My two cats loved this brand for over six months, absolutely wolfed it down every time. They won't touch it now, not even when crying for food. This happened between one order and the next. Has the maker changed the recipe?

I bought that food, as I am still trying to find the substitute for Gourmet. Unfortunately, none of our 4 cats touched it...

I ordered the beef & cod flavour because our boy likes fish and he absolutely loves it. Normally he goes for his dry food first and you sometimes have to trick him into eating his wet food. Not with this! He loves it and finishes it (almost) every time, sometimes even asking for seconds. So happy as we have been trying to find a brand of cat food that is healthy and which he likes. The price is really good, too, esp. if you buy a multipack. Excited to try the other flavours!

I have 3 house cats and 1 feral stable cat, only the feral will eat this. It looks and smells nice but obviously my house cats disagree. I won't purchase the very large tins again, I will just buy smaller ones for my feral.

I decided to switch from pouches (mostly Hills, Sheba & pets at home own brand) to cans - mainly to save costs. Frog didn't like this one at first - I think it was because the texture is very different to what she'd been used to - high meat content, so dry-ish without so much jelly or gravy that she'd been used to. In the end I mixed the first can with water to change the consistency, then stuck to the new foods that she seemed to like more. After a few weeks' gap, I've just tried a second can, and she has wolfed it down without any problems. It's very meaty - looks a bit like corned beef.

This food is great and I think reasonably priced. We used to buy Lily's Kitchen as one of my cats suffers from digestion problems, but Lilys was a bit hit and Miss and he still got a funny belly from it, so I looked around for alternative fuss free (grain, colouring, additives etc) cat food's and tried this. We use the Turkey and Rabbit and all 4 cats love it, are healthy and my problems cats stomach has improved greatly. And this is cheaper! Would definitely recommend!!

Decided to try this as I'm on the constant quest for good quality food that doesn't break the bank. Our three had been fed on Shiny Cat for a while (with RC dried food) because of some digestion problems and it was getting to the point where they were actually getting fed up of chicken. We've got a 3 cats with range of ages from 5 months to 17 years and there's little point on feeding age specific food as they all swap around. Decided to try Carny as it had a high meat content, no nasty additives and was suprisingly cheap. All three of ours absolutely love it regardless of variety. You can definitely tell it has a high meat content as you can play "guess the animal part"! It doesn't look great but actually doesn't smell too bad and you know that they are all getting a high quality food.

... but with the Multi-Meat Cocktail and some other varieties, there's a thick layer of white fat at the bottom of the can. It's really unappetising, and it's not just my cats who think so. So, unfortunately, 3 spoonfuls always end up in the bin.

All batches except the DE one are happily eaten, but the cats won't touch this one – it has a strange texture.

Many thanks to Animonda for changing the recipe! 🤬 For 12 years, our cats only ate Carny. Not anymore. Now the whole stuff is more like a mushy cream with a completely different smell than before. Every single flavour! Normally, the cats get excited as soon as the tin is opened. Now, when you put the food down for them, they just turn around and walk away. Even after 2 days, it was left untouched. Animonda is dead to us now!

All the cats really like this food. I just don't buy the beef flavour.

I've been buying this cat food for years. Switching my two tomcats to a different food is difficult because they can't tolerate everything. I still buy this food from time to time, but the quality has really declined over the years. They used to have separate options for adult and kitten food. Apparently, they don't bother with that anymore. It's a shame, I was actually always happy with it.

Something's not right... My cats used to eat this food just fine, but now I ordered 24 cans, it looks okay, smells okay, but every time they eat it, they gag and throw up... BOTH cats, no matter the flavour. I tried giving them Wild Freedom instead and with that one, everything's fine. Honestly, don't buy this rubbish for your cats!

My cats are allergic to chicken. They used to be able to eat several flavours from this brand. Now chicken is put in everything, for no apparent reason… It’s a miracle they haven’t added chicken to the pure beef one. Unfortunately, I won’t be buying this food anymore.

Noticeable drop in quality after the label change, the cats often leave it or vomit after eating :( It's a shame because it used to be their favourite.

Since the recipe changed, our three won't eat the food anymore.

I went back to this food after a few years, and unfortunately my cat is throwing up after eating it. :/

Both my cats, although they're not usually picky, turn their noses up at the meat cocktail :c They only eat it as a last resort, if it's the only thing I put in their bowl during the day. They happily eat the other Animonda flavours though.

I can only agree with the recent reviews. We’ve been feeding our cats this food for three years, since they got it as kittens at the animal rescue. They always liked it. Now the texture is really strange and they don’t like eating it anymore. We’re now looking for a different food—such a shame!

Delivery was a bit delayed because the package was only announced an hour before it was due, and I didn’t notice it, so I had to arrange for redelivery a few times... But then everything arrived perfectly and the cats absolutely love it anyway!

The quality of the food has really gone downhill... it's almost all fat and sinew now. Not recommended 👎
