Pure Chicken with Whole Poultry Hearts
Only food that doesn’t make him sick
I’ve found this food is the only one my male cat can tolerate. He has an extremely sensitive tummy where a lot of foods make him sick but this food seems to agree with him and has done for a very long time. Usually he seems to get ill again after a while, we’ve tried carny, untamed, MARRO and KatKin but he either wouldn’t eat them or was sick. As much as I don’t like that some cans seem to have a lot less hearts in them than others I will stick with it as it seems to be the best for my boysie.

Deteriorated
My cats really enjoyed Mac’s food which we have been purchasing for some time. Recently the quality seems to have deteriorated however and they are reluctant to eat it until they can hold out no longer. There seems to be more chunks of fat in the recent cans and the chicken variety they particularly enjoyed with the whole hearts now seems to have far fewer hearts. I am now trying alternative brands. Previously 4 or 5 stars but now only 2.
Cat enjoys it
My cat appears to be intolerant of nearly all food, but so far she is doing really well on this meat, probably due to the lack of fillers.

Both my Sphynx Cats hated it!
I had a look at the ingredients before ordering and thought it might be good to try this. Unfortunately both of my Canadian Sphynx Pedigree cats took a couple of mouthfuls and left the rest.
When you open the can it's like a bunch of cooked & minced up mush with whole cooked hearts. They both hated it. I do not recommend trying this as I have now wasted my money buying a pack of 6 x 800g cans....I will feed the rest to the foxes!

Decline in quality
I bought food from this brand for several years and at first it was great. Over time, my cat got fussier with the flavours and we mostly stuck to salmon and veal. Unfortunately, after the last two orders, my cat got sick three times after eating freshly opened cans of salmon from different batches. One time he ended up on a drip for a week because he wouldn’t eat anything after having this food. The cans themselves have recently seemed swollen and the texture is watery. We’re giving up on this brand. 😞

New formula? Quality is declining
I used to always like the food, but something is different with the new order. The food is suddenly much fattier, no matter which variety – there are actual fat droplets in it, and the chicken with chicken hearts variety is slimy? I don’t even know how to describe it. High Quality & Affordable
Luckily, the occasionally changing recipe doesn’t bother us – the cats eat both the new and the old batches really well and tolerate it perfectly. But I’ve noticed the changes too, and I get why other owners might find it annoying.
Still: Especially for this price, the food is great, so who says good cat food has to be expensive? ;)

Good food for sensitive stomachs
I have a cat with diabetes and a sensitive stomach. I switched from using Venandi mono-protein beef to this one because Mac's is a bit cheaper. It works well for the most part and even my other cat really likes it. To a human nose, it smells much more appetising than, for example, Mjau wet food which they ate before. I do wish they would skip adding things like carrot, but it's grain-free and sugar-free and has a good composition for diabetic cats.

When my cats moved in a few years ago, I tried several brands and have stuck with this one ever since. They always eat it well, except when they have tummy troubles ;). If I gave them the recommended amount of food, my cats would probably be meowing at me all day out of hunger, but they're also young, active, and playful (indoor cats). The batches often vary a bit; I have to take off a point because sometimes there's a different unchopped organ in there (stomach?).

We've been using MAC's food ever since Porto was a kitten. We started with the kitten range and now we've switched to the adult version. Constantly changing formula
I'm really getting super annoyed now. As many cat owners know, cats are very picky when it comes to food. The Lamb & Turkey variety is the ONLY thing they'll eat. So it's all the more frustrating when the recipe keeps changing. The tins used to be dark green, now they're light green – and unfortunately, it's not just the colour that's changed.
