Trixie Protective Car Boot Bars

We've had this grille in our Skoda Fabia Combi for about a year now, and it's still holding firm. Great price!

The protective grille fits perfectly in our Ford Focus. Nothing wobbles, and it’s nice and sturdy.

Price is absolutely fine, fits, as already mentioned in the title, in a Mazda 3. Would buy again.

It holds and is stable, as long as the dog doesn’t lean directly against the bars from below. For us, it has slipped twice in the six months we’ve had it. So, it’s quite a good barrier for this price. However, we always check before every trip to make sure it’s still secure. I’d recommend doing the same if you have a slightly heavier/larger dog.

Does what it's supposed to, I'm happy with it, and it even holds up against my three girls.

Unfortunately, I have to reattach it every few weeks because it shifts over time. The side panels are also too easy to move, so our dog (13kg) has often managed to simply climb onto the back seat.

We use the grid to divide the boot of our Caddy into two compartments so that each dog has its own space. A grid like this isn’t offered by the manufacturer. To ensure it doesn’t get moved by our 60kg male dog, we’ve additionally secured it to the headrest grid using cable ties. It holds up brilliantly and absolutely serves its purpose. We probably wouldn’t use it as a safety grid, but as a boot divider, we’d definitely use it again, including in a Berlingo XL in the future.

Very good quality, very sturdy, and above all, very quick to assemble. Unbeatable price. I even left my boot liner in the car and simply mounted the grille on top. It stays in place and doesn’t slip. My two boxers are now safe on every journey and got used to it very quickly.

For our Mitsubishi, it's not suitable because we have a slope, and the grid doesn't hold or comes loose during the drive.. -.-

It doesn't fit very well at all. Nice and sturdy though, once I'd used a bit of brute force!

Due to our gas engine, the loading surface is raised, the grid barely fits and can't be properly fixed because of the movable, not entirely stable base. We're still trying to put a board underneath, provided the height doesn't end up being too low. Otherwise, unfortunately, the grid was bought for nothing. :(

It was easy to assemble, price-performance: excellent, and it doesn’t wobble for us. It’s sturdy and serves its purpose. I was pleasantly surprised.

From the moment I installed it, I regretted not having bought the grille years ago. The height, width, even the spacing of the bars – everything can be adjusted to the millimetre. It fits like a glove and doesn’t wobble at all. I’ve got a Honda Civic estate and a Rottweiler and a Pitbull. For the past seven years, I didn’t have one, but every time I came back from paying at the petrol station, the two of them would be sitting in the front. I got tired of the routine: open the door, dogs out, open the boot, dogs in. So I bought the grille, and I’m absolutely thrilled!

After using it for almost a year now, I have to say: you get what you pay for. It keeps coming off every time my Cocker Spaniel bumps into it. Assembly is a bit fiddly, and the material doesn’t hold up well over time. Conclusion: if you’re short on money, it’s fine, but you should save up for something better. Might still be OK for small, calm dogs.

The individual elements are far too loose. And there’s no way to properly secure this structure with the accessories provided. It rattles everywhere. Absolutely not recommended.

I drive a Focus estate and regularly transport 3 large dogs (70 kg, 40 kg, 30 kg). We have a grille behind the front seats, and I had one behind the rear bench as a divider between the boot and the back seat. During braking manoeuvres, it regularly falls apart into pieces. The low price probably doesn’t allow for much more. But in that case, I might as well not bother with a protective grille at all. I’ll have to look for a sturdier option.

By now, three people have already tried to secure the grille, and it’s simply impossible to get it fixed properly. Sometimes, even slightly harder braking is enough to detach the grille. I wouldn’t buy it again and am now looking for something more stable.

Yes, it is quite small and there isn't much room if the back seats are reclined. But it's worth a try and I was really surprised. I fully recline my back seats and set up the gate behind the driver seat instead, so the dogs have enough room. It fits and it holds. Though I had to do a bit of tweaking it fulfils it's purpose. If the dog isn't in a crate or there isn't space for a crate then this works. It's great with my 2 German Shepherd mixes. I would buy it again, even though I did struggle a little assembling it :)

It's actually quite small, and you only really have space if you fold down the rear seats. It was worth a try, and I'm amazed. I'm 1.74m tall myself, which means I have my driver's seat set quite far back. I've adjusted the passenger seat the same way. Folded down the bench seat so the two woofs have enough space—I didn't want to take that away from them—and installed the grille. Fits, works, holds. You do have to fiddle around a bit, but it serves its purpose if the dogs won't go in a crate or if the space for a crate is simply far too small. The bigger one is a Shepherd-Collie mix, and the smaller one is a Border-Shepherd mix. Besides, they won't go in a crate due to their past. I would buy it again, even though I had a few minor meltdowns while assembling it :-)

This might be very practical, but it doesn't work in small cars. I can't adjust the front seat far enough to fit it - and if I don't then it doesn't hold. The screws don't clamp strongly enough, so if the dog pushes on it it'll fall down.
