False claim
@Elke N. Where on earth did you get this nonsense from? I’ve only ever had houses with round windows, and I’ve kept guinea pigs since 1998, and not once has a guinea pig died just because their house had round windows. Honestly, this is the biggest rubbish I’ve ever heard. The windows in this house are actually so big that they allow two guinea pigs to escape into the house at the same time. Guinea pigs can die if they get squashed in the doorway of the house while trying to escape with another guinea pig!

Why build the house together?
I keep hearing that everyone had to assemble the house themselves. Was I lucky, or have the lovely folks at Zooplus changed something? My house didn’t need assembling, and it looks absolutely awesome. As always, super fast delivery. You really can’t complain. I just think the guinea pigs will start nibbling on the wood pretty soon, but that’s fine – it’s good for their teeth.

Very nice, but..............
First of all, compliments to Zooplus: super-fast delivery, it arrived two days after ordering. It also looks very nice and is well received, but there were quite a few issues during assembly: The holes for the dowels didn’t align properly, so you first have to force the dowels in because the holes were too small, and then the side panels didn’t fit perfectly either due to the misaligned holes. This meant we had to get quite creative to make everything fit together properly, especially since the roof is removable. If the house ends up crooked because of the incorrect holes, the roof won’t fit anymore either. Another issue, which can be fixed with some DIY skills: The two entrances to the house seem to have been routed out, but inside there were unsightly wood splinters, some about 2 cm long and thick enough to potentially injure a small animal’s eye. So, these splinters had to be filed down at both entrances. If you address all these issues, it’s definitely a nice, high-quality house, and the price is justified. You just need to know what you’re doing, and since we’ve thankfully assembled quite a few things before, it wasn’t a problem for us. That’s why it still gets 4 stars. (I also assume that not all houses have these defects, but Zooplus should definitely keep an eye on this.)

A dream for every bunny!!!!!
Finally, a truly beautiful house. Both of my rabbits fit inside and on top of it.
As soon as the house was in the cage, my rabbits started gnawing at it like crazy. The bark on the roof was completely chewed off after just two days. But that’s ABSOLUTELY NOT a disadvantage: gnawing helps wear down their teeth perfectly and also brings joy to the rabbits. At some point, you’ll just have to buy a new house, but the main thing is that the rabbits are happy.
The only downside: you have to assemble the house yourself with wood glue and a hammer.

For a fully grown guinea pig
For a fully grown guinea pig, this little house is ideal. It can stretch out inside and nibble on it without it falling apart straight away or leaving wood splinters lying around the cage! My guinea pig also loves jumping onto the roof, which you can take off to check what your pet is up to! I'm actually quite satisfied with the house, but I didn't expect to have to assemble it myself, which was a bit tricky! That's why I'm only giving it 4 stars!
