The basket is made of sturdy wicker with a galvanised wire mesh cover to ensure that you and your pet arrive safe and sound.The attached bracket at the base of the basket makes it quick and easy to attach this basket to your bicycle’s pannier rack and allows you to transport dogs weighing up to 8kg. The Trixie Rear-Mounted Bicycle Basket also comes with a soft suede-effect cushion so that your dog can travel in comfort.

Please note the maximum weight capacity of this bike basket. You should allow plenty of time for your dog to get used to the basket before using it on your bicycle for the first time. It is also advisable for you to practice riding your bicycle with the basket attached and containing objects that add up to your dog’s weight, so that you can experience how the balance and steering of your bike will change with your dog on board. Hold your bike steady when you put your dog into the basket or take it out. Use a harness to secure your pet in the basket. If you are using a basket with a wire mesh cover, you should always ensure that the wire mesh is firmly closed before setting off. You risk your bike overbalancing if you leave your bike unattended on a stand with your dog in the basket. Never leave your pet unattended in the basket.

Bike basket
Bought last year and has been great. My dog was just a puppy when we got the basket, so he sits well in it as has always known it. Feels stable on bike. Very happy with the purchase.

Nice product but needs some adaptions
We bought two of these baskets for our two (different) bikes. The clamp to attach it to the bike worked for one but needed adjustment for the second bike which had a narrower frame. We have also decided to get some additional support for the baskets as they do move a bit when there is a lot of weight in them and we are concerned that the baskets need to be 'rock solid' when our two dogs are on board. Our dogs were definitely nervous initially and need to get used to travelling in the basket.

Looks good
We bought this for our Cavapoo. Arrived in time and looks really good at first inspection. As previously reported the base board is quite flimsy. Very soft wood. The Bike attachment is awkward and again like others we have to make adaptations. The fixing plate overhangs the wicker basket which in turn is the 1cm proud of the baskets base. This distorts the plate when bolted the grips then are too short to catch the pannier rack. The design needs to be looked at or sold for a specific rack.

TOTALLY unsafe
On arrival the wooden base was cracked where the screws had been badly put in. The 1st time we used it, after 20 minutes the whole basket became loose because one of the nuts fell off! We tightened them as was physically possible, but the main fault is due to the fact there is just one bracket in the centre. On moving, the basket pivots on it and the nuts become loose. My partner reinforced the wooden base with another, bought another bracket and used butterfly wing nuts. Unsafe and Rubbish!

good quality
My dog is very timid so i put her in the basket several times before using it on my bike. I also recommend doing a dummy run using a similar weight before putting your dog on your cycle. My dog loves the carrier and looks very cute.in it.and can now come with me instead of being left on her own

Doesn't fit in any standard rack
The clamping mechanism is far too wide for any rack in my possession. If it needs a specific rack then it should say so along with details of what that rack might be.

Geat basket
It's perfect. I was not aware I will need a slightly bigger rack for it. But it's not a problem. Size is just perfect for my Pug.
