A complete wet food for cats with diabetes. It is free from carbohydrates and rich in protein to help regulate blood sugar levels. Free from sugar, soya, and artificial additives.
Integra Protect Diabetes is a wet cat food which has been designed to meet the specific dietary requirements of diabetic cats. Diabetes is one of the most common diseases in cats. It is a metabolic disease that results in chronic elevations of blood sugar levels, and therefore a breakdown of muscle tissue and fat. There can be a number of causes, though it most commonly results from being overweight, and the symptoms include increased water and food intake, progressive weight loss, and increased urine output. Alongside medical treatment, it is important to also use appropriate food which has been adapted for cats with diabetes.
Integra Protect Diabetes is designed for diabetic cats and helps them to maintain a stable blood glucose level. The recipe has a protein content of more than 45% of the metabolisable energy. This helps to maintain a healthy muscle mass. It is completely free of carbohydrates and is therefore also grain free, making it well suited for cats with grain intolerances. Its specific combination of minerals works to reduce the risk of struvite and calcium oxalate stones.

My cat was diagnosed with diabetes and was having trouble processing regular canned cat food. She likes this food, her tummy feels much better, and I am happy about the price. The texture is similar to regular food (e.g. Purina Pro I tried was paste-like pate) but spreads easily on a plate. The cans are literally stuffed with food to the top. I had a few questions about this brand and Zooplus customer service response was stellar.

Reminds me of corned beef
Tins have a texture and smell reminiscent of corned beef! Two of my four cats will eat this, including the diabetic one luckily. Was looking for high protein low carb food so am trying this, supplemented with chicken and sardines and cats blood glucose has halved in past 10 days.

Rubys not too sure .......
Bought this products on the stength of the reviews and the fact that my Ruby Tuesday is one fat cat! Not been diagnosed as diabetic but Im sure we are not far off. Tried a lot of products-cheap to expensive-with varying success. The content of Integra is neither meat nor mush, a bit odd to be honest but does have a texture that Ruby seems to like. Still early days and she also has the Katovit diabetic kibble. Sadly she is a kibble fiend! We will persevere as it has not yet been refused.

great value
we tried many diabetic brands to get our cat to eat again after he lost his appetite and integra was the winner, they love this brand. I was worried that the tinned food would be a mushy consistency like some other more well known brands (which our cats refused to eat) but it was not. it can me mushed up if your cat prefers that but this cuts easily into chunks and holds a very generous portion in each can, far more than one portion in a can .

Satisfying
I have two large cats I adopted from blue cross who are brothers. Both 12 years of age. Only one of them developed Diabetes but I feed both of them diabetic food as they swap plates half way through. It is expensive with two of them on this food but they love this and finding Zoo Plus selling it cheaper than anywhere else, helps a lot.

Goes down well
I have always struggled to find a good food suitable for my diabetic cat! We‘ve tried a few different brands and one was like absolute mush in a can.. This brand however, she LOVES!!
My cat is on 200g of meat a day and so these cans are perfect! Halved in the morning and evening before her insulin injections and she’s fighting to get it out the can as I’m putting it in her bowl. It doesn’t smell bad and the texture, for a cat food, is really good in my opinion.

My cats eat the 100g tins but refuse the 200g tins- weird!
The chicken and beef are devoured in the 100g tins, but when I tried to reduce the costs and buy the larger 200g tins, they sniff it and walk away!
The consistency and texture varies visibly between the two and there is a greater percentage of white fatty deposits in the 200g tins.
I have no way of knowing the contents but my cats sure seem to be able to tell that something is different. So far I throw away more than they eat so the 200g tins are not a cost saving- be warned.

My diabetic cat loves it
My 12 year old cat was diagnosed with diabetes about 2 years ago. Didn't get much advice from my vet about what to feed him on. I needed a high protein low carb food. Then i stumbled on integra protect for diabetic cats. He has gone from 4 units twice a day down to 2 units twice a day and now is in remission. All thanks to this new food and all in a matter of about 8 weeks. Thanks Animonda

Great alternative to Vets usual recommendation
My cat was so fed up with the limited range of diabetic food I could find, she started turning her back on the dish. It's bad enough injecting insulin twice each day (for both of us) but refusing to eat left me at my wit's end. Luckily I saw a link to Zooplus on a forum. At last, prescription cat food that doesn't look like mud and comes in more than two flavors. Thanks to Integra Protect and Zooplus my cat enjoys her food again and I have one less think to worry about.
