Concept for Life Veterinary Diet Gastrointestinal Pouches are a premium complete wet food for adult cats with inadequate digestion, disturbed pancreatic function and acute absorption disorders. These cats do not digest food sufficiently, so they can't absorb nutrients properly. The intestinal flora is disturbed, vomiting and diarrhoea can cause further loss of body water and vital electrolytes. The mucous membranes in the gastrointestinal tract can also become irritated. If these symptoms occur over a long period of time, they can lead to dehydration and emaciation. If your cat has a pancreatic disfunction such as exocrine pancreatic insufficiency these symptoms may be analogous.

How can Concept for Life Veterinary Diet Gastrointestinal support your cat?
This Concept for Life Veterinary Diet Gastrointestinal is a specially developed high-premium dietary complete food for adult cats, which is optimally adapted to the nutritional needs of cats with inadequate digestion and impaired pancreatic function. Palatable ingredients include turkey meat and offal, pumpkin and safflower oil, all of which are easy to digest so that your cat's digestive system is not overloaded. Feed this food in small portions for optimal compatibility. The increased ratio of selected minerals helps to quickly compensate for any loss of electrolytes. This supports your cat's well-being. The high liquid content in this wet food boosts your cat's fluid intake, helping to prevent dehydration. It is suitable if your cat is suffering from acute or chronic diarrhoea. Concept for life Veterinary Diet Gastrointestinal also contains mannan-oligosaccharides and salmon oil which is rich in omega 3 fatty acids. This helps to build up the disturbed gut flora and has an anti-inflammatory effect. This tasty cat food is low in fat which is important if your pet is suffering from exocrine pancreatic insufficiency.

IBD CAT

I have used this food before a year ago when my cat was just diagnosed. He loved it. I stopped using it for a long while ,can't remember why.. but only now reintroduce it and...my cat loves it and his poo is perfect!

Wouldn’t buy again.

My cat has pancreatitis and we’ve been trying wet food that makes him feel better. This isn’t it, it makes him listless and gives him diarrhoea, so I can’t recommend it for gastrointestinal conditions like pancreatitis. It’s a shame as it’s well priced.

Disappointed

Gave this to my cat for the first time today and she’s been sick twice. She was doing really well on the Royal Canin gastrointestinal wet food but liked the ingredients of this one. She’s suffered with pancreatitis and possible IBD. So I will stick with the Royal Canin!

Helps

I have ordered gastro intestinal pouches. At first I gave for my cat smilla pate the same gastro, and then these pouches, she ate them well and it really helps her indigestion. Now will buy one more pack to continue, just a pitty that discount had ended.

EPI/IBD

I have a foster cat that has EPI, it's been difficult to find a food that would not go straight through him. He was on a more expensive food which was a life saver for him, but being a foster cat, I had to find something equally as good, that would not cause diarrhoea. Not only has he put weight on he's managed to keep it on, poop is alot better, and he remains stable. I just hope they never change or try to improve the receipe. If your cat has EPI or IBD I highly recommend it

My cat loves this food

I tried various high end brands of wet food for my Scottishfold who occasionallly has an upset stomach. Even the top rated human grade meat cat food but it alway ended up giving him problems. He has for well over 6 months now happily eating this food. It does not look appealing, but he has had no problems since eating this.

NEW RECIPE IS AWFUL PLEASE GO BACK

My cat relied on the hydrolysed protein and after years of trying to find a food this was the only one that he could eat. I am now back to square one as the new recipe which is making him very poorly. So so sad. Please go back to the old recipe, I don't know what else to do

Great food

My 14yr old Maine Coon has IBD, resulting in weight and muscle loss. I've tried other specialist diet foods but nothing helped. Her weight dropped from 5.65kg to 4.90kg she's been on this food for 4mths and her weight has increased to 5.10kg !!!

Great for sensitive tummy

My cat loves this and it’s so much kinder on her tummy.

Great food!

My cat who suffered with suspected IBD loved it and he wasn’t vomiting after eating it. Pumpkin adds fibre, so his poop was better also. It’s a great alternative to Royal Canin gastrointestinal.

Good food.

My beloved cat died from lymphoma. This exact food and Royal Canin gastrointestinal kept him going until his last days. He loved it.

Cats HATE it!

I have 2 cats that were previously street cats, who are NOT fussy, until this awful food. They’ve been on Gastro food for 6 months and enjoy every other brand except this. It must taste awful for this pair to leave it. Tried my neighbours cat who is on Gastro foods, & he also wouldn’t go near it. My advice, don’t buy this food. Likely your cat will hate it too.
