I bought this cage and it is very nice but I found out afterwards that it is too small for a syrian hamster. The bare minumum required is 80x50cm of floor space, without counting the shelves. This was for my first hamster. She keeps biting the bars of the cage and looks generally stressed. Please do not put your hamster in such a small space.

My 10year old daughter saved up all her money and was really excited to have it delivered not once but twice the cage base came to us cracked and broken.i do love the look of the cage and will be perfect for my daughters hamster I just think that it could have been packaged a lot better.

This cage is the perfect size for a Syrian. However, there are lots of issues that I wasn't aware of until its arrival. My cage arrived damaged, with 3/4 corners of the base cracked. I was expecting the base to be sturdy and reliable, but found it to be flimsy; inevitably prone to damage. Putting this cage together was tedious and took a good amount of time. Cleaning is a nightmare, as you're unable to separately remove the wire barring to access each floor. It's heavy and awkward to move.

Purchased this product looking at other reviews, but was disappointed almost immediately. Product is very fiddly to put together, plastic handles just do not work. The biggest issue I have with it, is that two upper floors cannot be covered with sawdust or bedding material; but that's where our hamsters love to poop! Every morning, there is poop scattered everywhere around the cage. There should be some kind of upstand to help keep stuff inside the cage.

We took this thing to finefare - it fit plenty of our groceries in but we noticed as we were pushing it up the veg aisle that it had no wheels. Not a problem though - we had french loaves in the basket so used these like logs to move it along - score.
