Perfect for 'good do-ers'
We have an Anatolian Shepherd (a short coated, streamlined St Bernard with a tail like an Akita). He was a rescue dog and very thin when we got him. He is a little on the small side for a male of his breed, which may account for him being on the streets in Wales.
My daughter did lots of research into various brands of dog food and decided on Royal Canin. Foley gained weight steadily on the maxi 26 but once he got to the weight recommended by the vet (45kg) we found it difficult to maintain it AND give him enough food to satisfy him. We changed to maxi 27 and he is maintaining his weight well on around 310g a day, plus a couple of treats and a dentastick!
We have had him 2 years now and he is happy on Royal Canin maxi 27. He is in very good health, has plenty of energy without being mad, does not suffer from wind and his poo is firm (without causing him discomfort) and not particularly smelly.
I would recommend Royal Canin to any dog owner, despite it being a little dearer. It is well worth the money!
