To begin with I thoroughly cleaned the Fountain completely once a week. After three days I had to get rid of all the water completely and fill with fresh. Black growth of fungal organisms. It has got worse over time - 7/12/21 I thoroughly cleaned again, hot water, detergent, with scrubber, the wire brush that came with filters, toothbrushes, cotton wool buds. It looked in pristine condition - Filled it, switched on, seconds later more black bits, changed the water again X4.HELP needed Please

Keeping it clean is a nightmare. I have been disassembling the fountain and deep cleaning it every other day because it gets some foam and pinkish slimy scum. I have been using a straw cleaner brush to clean the holes, cotton buds to clean the part that connects to the water bomb and disassembling the water bomb to clean it. Nothing works. You need to do that every single day to allow your cats to drink clean water. Even replacing the filter every 2 weeks, it gets mouldy. It doesn't worth it!

The fountain is good. Easy assembling and the cats enjoy it. However, it gets a foam close to the waterfall and it is not very pleasant. I started cleaning it weekly and then fortnightly, but it didn't solve. Besides that, it is made by plastic - what I knew before buying, but the vet recommended not using it anymore as my cat developed feline acne and one of the most common causes of it is plastic materials. Unfortunately, didn't work for me.

I've tried boiled water, filtered water, etc., but even with the filters, I get black mould. I've had to stop using it.

This is the 3rd fountain we've had to purchase because they break within a year. The only reason I keep buying this one is because our cats love it and we have the filters for it.

This is the 2nd fountain alive purchased for my cats it worked brilliant until 2 weeks ago the plug has broken and is stuck in my electric socket so now cannot use it

My Ragdoll cat loved to drink from this, although on the minimum setting is definitely quite loud. However, the biggest disadvantage is it's weight, it is definitely too light. My cat learned how to tip it, open it and pull out the filter!! So, a very big NO for water-tipping cats!
