Sheba Sustainability

Sustainable fishing: preserving resources for future generations

In the production of cat food, Sheba focuses on sustainability, both through responsible procurement of raw materials and through the manufacturing process. To achieve this goal, Sheba works closely with the Marine Stewardship Council (MSC), an international non-profit organization that recognizes and rewards efforts to protect the oceans and secure the supply of seafood for the future. When you see the MSC's blue fish label on Sheba products, you can be sure that the fish comes from a proven, sustainable source.

When you see the MSC blue fish label you can be sure the product is:

Sustainably sourced

✓ from a certified sustainable source: Each MSC-certified fishery has been independently assessed for its specific amount of wild fish populations and the ecosystems they're part of.
✓ carefully controlled: MSC-certified fish and seafood are separated from non-certified fish and seafood along the entire supply chain from sea to plate. It is clearly labelled so it can be traced to a certified sustainable fishery.
✓ trustworthy: Regular DNA-tests have shown that products labelled with MSC are correctly labelled. You can be sure that the fish corresponds to the information on its packaging.
✓ credible: MSC has been working with scientists, fisheries, seafood producers and brands for over 20 years to develop their standards and promote sustainable fisheries.
