Excellent dog food

We have recently adopted a rescue greyhound. We were told to feed her James Wellbeloved which we did but I continuously sensed that the food wasn't doing her any good. Her poos were enormous and frequent, her coat remained dull and lack-lustre and she didn't seem wild about it. After researching dog foods for absolute ages, we decided to try Orijen. Although very expensive, we gave it a try. It's been a month now and our dog is a very different looking dog. Her coat (black) is exquisite, it looks like wet velvet and feels so fine yet thick. She is looking so solid and she is acting like a puppy which is just so sweet. And best of all, her poos have reduced in quantity and volume! The most important thing about this food is to NOT give more than the recommended amount. Our greyhound is about 35kg in weight and we feed her just short of the upper limit for her weight and this is perfect. Feeding too much makes her tummy work and she seems uncomfortable. Perfect food for our dog. Although pricey, it is totally worth it - give it a try. She still has slight dryness of the skin with some flakes but even these are getting less. Well done on producing a first class dog food!!

Well worth the money!!

I have a Pomeranian and they are very fuzzy eaters! I've fed him Orijen puppy food since he's been a baby and occasionally, I do give him some human food like plain cooked chicken/beef/fish and I found that he really love fish so I changed him to this adult food. I wouldn't say he chump it down but he does eat enough of it through out the day. He's now 1 year and 2 months now and I've never had to take him to the vet for anything apart from jabs and check ups. I believe that if you feed your dog a good quality dog food, it'll save you on vet bills and I'm sure vet bills are much higher than one bag of god food!! Also Zooplus has the best price I have found so far!!

The only food I buy

My Mom lives in Canada and told me about this food. After finding that it's available in Europe, I won't buy any other kind of food. My Yorkie's coat is never greasy, dull or smelly. She can go a couple of months without a bath, whereas previously she needed a bath every 2 weeks. She is a grazer and this hasn't changed with Orijen so she hasn't had any issues with putting on weight. We've tried all the formulations and she eats them all.

Pug Loves It

This is a great food, in fact the BEST!! I cant belive more people dont know about it. This should be on the shelves of every supermarket and pet shop in the UK.

actually good value!

After moving to Ireland I couldn't get James Beloved and researched quality alternatives and shocked to dscover the rubbish that goes into dog food (why should they eat something you wouldn't contemplate?). I started on the ordinary Orijen but switched to this as one of my westie goes lame (partly arthritic, partly loose kneecap) and as wheat free is supposed to help humans thought it would be worth a try. Both westies also suffer(ed) sub..something skin problem which gave them a pink, greasy coat on their backs. In conjunction with other treatments (cosequin and special shampoo) we have noticed a huge difference - pink staining/greasy coat has disappeared completely so (subject to no rolling in cow or chicken poo, as they are want to do), we can go 4-6 weeks without washing them, when previously it was 1-2 weeks). The dog is much more agile (and at times even 'bouncy'). Poos are good as well, although improved on normal Orijen anyway. Warning - our dogs put on weight, so start on the low recomendations - its so good they eat it all. I would say I use half the amount of James Beloved, therefore actually good value for its quality. 13.5kg lasts 2-3 months for 2 westies

Our dog LOVES this food!

Being new owners, we were keen to feed our rescue dog the finest food we could find and Orijen is just that! We tried Hills, James Wellbeloved and various others but this outshines all of them. There are some who say the protein is too high etc, but our dog has not put on any extra weight and she is not hyperactive (right now she is snoring away on her beanbag). On other foods, we found she suffered with terrible wind and had runny large stools. On Orijen her coat gleams, her wind has stopped and her stools are as they should be. Yes, it may be a little more expensive but I've also found I use far less so the bag lasts longer!

Good food but way over priced!

I started feeding my 4 large dogs with this food about 18 months ago but Im afraid the price has increased so much (£10 per bag) since I started buying it that it is out of my price range which is a pity. I was buying two 13Kg bags every 6-7 weeks. This would now cost me almost £120 which is way too much. If this company gets too greedy, it will find that a lot of people like me who are feeding more than one dog cannot afford all these price increases and will have to look elsewhere for a similar quality food at a more reasonable price.

Love it!

I switched my 3 dogs (2 Chihuahua's and a Shiba Inu) onto this food several months ago after reading it was a grain free food. My 6 year old Chi had always been a fussy eater and we had tried her on nearly every brand of food going, since switching she has put on a lot of weight and gobbles it up(she was like a rake before), seems more active/playful plus more importantly a dry patch of flaky skin on her back finally cleared up after years of being told by the vet it was a flea allergy. I have also noticed a vast improvement in both the Chihuahua's coats, they are both noticably softer and thicker plus they don't appear to moult all the time now. The only negative thing I could say about this food is that it took a while for their tummies to adjust to it, causing them to have the most awful smelling gas and stools for about 6 weeks but it was definitely worth putting up with as thankfully it did subside!

What a great dog food!

I just want to say that after many hours of research I came to conclusion - Orijen is the best food you can feed your dog. I have 1.1 year old labrador and he is happy, healthy boy.:) He had some allergy on chicken, but since I put him on Orijen Fish Food all problems gone. I am happy that Zooplus brought this food to UK market. One more thing. I dont think that Orijen very expensive. Because it doesnt have any grains and high in protein you dont need huge portions to feed dog. Regards

At last A no rubbish added dog food

I have tried many dog products over the years and have been searching for one that has ingredients in that dogs are supposed to eat and not what is cheap to fill them up.This is the one,I dont think it is expensive as i was cooking chicken, liver etc for my dogs to supplement the dog food.result-amazing,the dogs love it,more energy, soft coats and one who had dodgy stomach hasnt on this.Never felt the need to write a review before but I hope this helps if you are considering buying.

Review

I give my one-year old three-legged Bichon Frise this food... she is a happy, healthy, bouncy bundle of joy! Her poo is always very firm and there is very little of it! I have found I don't need to feed very much of it, so it works out being good value for money. The quality of the food means you don't then end up needing to buy "extra" vitamin or mineral / joint supplements.

QUALITY!!

I use both the adult orijen's and love everything about them. The ingredients are human grade, no by products or unnecessary fillers and there are no chemical additives or preservatives just fresh wholefoods and minerals. Both my dogs look great on orijen; great skin, coat, weight and muscle tone. I have tried sooo many others and have never been so happy with the results.

FANTASTIC FOOD

I have had so much trouble with my GSD finding a food that suited his sensitive digestion. He constantly had runny/mucus or even bloody stools . Since feeding Orijen he has not had one bad day and he loves both the fish and meat Orijen! He is happy and healthy and i love the fact that there are no grains in this food.

Fantastic! You Cant Buy Better.

My Chocolate Labrador Loves This Food. She has a Fantastic shiny coat. Firm stools. And No More ear Problems! Would Not Buy any other dog food. Worth Every Penny. Plus You get excellent service and delivery From Zooplus.
