Can be opened by clever cat without infrared key

There is a small metal clip on the bottom of the flap that our clever cat can hook it's claw into and then pull the flap open. Any cat can do this and get in as this method bypasses the locking mechanism and thus renders the infrared key security useless. I had to put plastic filler around the metal clip so that a cat could not get their claws underneath and pull the flap open. Not a clever design for the price and the inner flap/draught seal also blows open when it is windy.

no more unwanted visitors

We had a big problem with "visitors" in our home untill we got this cat flap. Now our cat enjoys his meals in peace and there aren't any "surprises" waiting for us when we get home. We did have to change out the batteries but now it works like a champ.

How to lock your cat out all night!

Buy a Staywell 500 IR cat flap, follow the instructions, attach collar to cat and sit back. 5 days later the cheap and nasty key falls apart inside and the cat is locked out all night? £50 well spent I would say!
